Firmly, I subscribe to the idea of carrying all essentials to any gathering. This principle holds true even when the event takes place in a forest, far from any power sources. I do get the allure of disconnecting for mental peace, but how else can the vibes persist without a dose of battery power to rely on?
Introducing Anker’s latest EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler and Solix Solar Umbrella, showcasing this week at CES 2025. These tech-enhanced outdoor party tools came out together with a 140W Display accompanied by a charger and a 25,000mAh power bank featuring a retractable cord. Nevertheless, it was the cooler and umbrella that captured our curiosity. The essence of these devices is to deliver energy when you’re adventuring without having to stress over additional support. Plus, the cooler genuinely cools edibles and can be operated remotely, allowing you to check food and drink temperatures from a distance.
Offered in volumes of 23L, 40L, and 58L, the EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler has the largest model being the most capable. The 58L version contains dual compartments that mimic a mobile refrigerator; one section freezes while the other maintains chillness. Naturally, both parts are app-controlled. The electric cooler also features a foldable tray with a handle and IPX3 water resistance.
Each cooler is fueled by two separate batteries, which Anker claims can offer up to 104 hours of coolness when using both units together. Additionally, each battery acts as a power source, offering USB-C and USB-A charging outlets if you require to charge a mobile or keep a line of lights running. The cooler includes a 100W solar panel, a vehicle socket, and USB-C for recharging. The 40L and 58L models are set for release in February, with the smaller version arriving later in the year.
The Anker Solix Solar Umbrella might not rival the coolers in excitement. It won’t actively lower your temperature, yet it does provide shade in remote areas by virtue of being an umbrella. At minimum, the Solar Umbrella boasts 100W output capacity through both XT-60 and USB-C ports, enabling connection of multiple devices to sustain power. The umbrella is IP67 water-resistant and is expected to be released sometime this summer. Pricing details for the coolers and umbrella are still unavailable.
